SUMMARY 

Many corporate law practitioners, including in-house lawyers, routinely advise in a wide variety of disciplines. This program addresses current issues and developments in several hot areas, including data use and privacy (including recent developments in HIPAA, GDPR, California’s Consumer Privacy Act  and the FTC Act, the significant increase in regulatory requirements, the duties of businesses to pro-actively manage data privacy and security, and non-compliance risks and penalties); commercial contracting (including key issues in professional service agreements, including CRO and clinical trial site agreements); strategic collaborations (including key considerations for long-term IP development, licensing, and commercialization relationships); health care law (including reimbursement trends, regulatory changes, and value-based care developments); and mergers and acquisitions (including representations and warranties insurance coverage and other current trends in risk allocation). Attendees will gain general familiarity with selected relevant developments in each of these disciplines.
