Smith Anderson Names Erik Mazzone as Firm’s First Chief Innovation Officer

Smith Anderson is pleased to announce the appointment of Erik Mazzone as the firm’s first Chief Innovation Officer, a new executive leadership position established to advance the firm’s innovation strategy and elevate the client experience through the intelligent application of technology and knowledge systems.

In this role, Erik will lead the firm’s Information Technology, Research Services, Knowledge Management and Litigation Technology teams focusing on leveraging technology, streamlining processes and improving internal workflows. He will work closely with firm leadership and department heads to strengthen Smith Anderson’s operational framework and align initiatives with the firm’s strategic goals and long-term vision.

Erik brings more than 20 years of experience in legal technology and practice management, and has spent his career helping lawyers and law firms navigate the intersection of law practice and technological change. He brings deep expertise in technology strategy, knowledge management and law firm operations.
