Smith Anderson Lawyers Present CPE Series Titled “It’s 2014: You will be Hacked”

Raleigh, N.C. – On September 24, 2014, Smith Anderson attorneys Alicia Gilleskie, Jackson Moore and Christopher Smith, along with Ryan Johnson, Director with Alvarez and Marsal’s Global Forensic and Dispute Services practice, partnered with Vaco Raleigh, LLC, an executive placement and consulting firm, to present a CPE panel discussion titled, “It’s 2014: You Will Be Hacked.” The event welcomed Research Triangle area executives at the Paragon Commercial Bank building in Raleigh, N.C. for a discussion of best practices for preparing and responding to data breach scenarios, including:

  • Real world data mishap scenarios and an overview of the regulatory and legal framework governing data in business and related response obligations;
  • Common dispute scenarios that result from data mishaps, including potential regulatory actions and litigation, and considerations around the evolving landscape of cyber insurance; and
