Smith Anderson Lawyer Presents at NCMBC’s 2014 Consolidated Federal Construction Teaming Forum

Raleigh, N.C. – On Wednesday, May 21, 2014, Smith Anderson lawyer Jackson Moore presented a class on drafting teaming arrangements at the 3rd Annual Consolidated Federal Construction Teaming Forum (#NCFCTF). Jackson presented to more than 30 attendees on key considerations when drafting teaming agreements for both joint ventures and subcontractors and the most effective ways to address disputes. He emphasized that contractors need to be careful that their teaming agreements are enforceable contracts and not unenforceable “agreements to agree.”

This event was hosted by the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) and provided North Carolina general and specialty trade contractors, suppliers and designers an opportunity to connect with the current federal large and small business prime contractors doing millions of dollars of federal construction and facility maintenance work on the five military installations in N.C. Many of these federal contracts will include project awards in neighboring S.C., Ga., Va. and Fla.
