Overview

Tess Peterson advises clients on a range of corporate finance, lending, and transactional matters as a member of Smith Anderson’s Debt Finance team. Drawing on both in-house and private practice experience, she represents corporate borrowers, sponsors, and financial institutions in complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including syndicated senior loans, bilateral credit facilities, asset-based credit facilities, structured finance arrangements, and other strategic business initiatives.

Before joining Smith Anderson, Tess served as Legal Director and Risk Manager for a global manufacturing company. Prior to that, she maintained a debt finance practice with large international law firms in Georgia, New York, and Texas, advising on a broad range of corporate finance and commercial transactions. Having served in both in-house and private practice roles, Tess understands the legal, business and operational considerations that influence complex domestic and international transactions.

Outside of work, Tess enjoys spending time with her husband and their young daughter. She spends her free time traveling, exploring the outdoors with family and friends, and cheering on the Duke Blue Devils alongside her husband and family.
