Rachel Grossman

Rachel Grossman litigates complex commercial disputes, including class actions and other high-stakes claims. She has experience at every stage of litigation, from injunctive proceedings to appeals. She is also well-versed in alternative dispute forums, including arbitration and mediation. Rachel routinely counsels clients seeking to advance business objectives while minimizing legal and reputational exposure, working to solve problems efficiently and creatively, including outside of court.

Before joining Smith Anderson, Rachel practiced at an international law firm in Washington, D.C., focusing on antitrust and class action litigation, and at a boutique firm representing clients in industries such as financial services, telecommunications, and law. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robin M. Meriweather of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

A North Carolina native, Rachel is deeply committed to pro bono service, having represented clients across the Southeast in resentencing proceedings, civil rights litigation, and in amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court. Outside the office, Rachel lives with her husband, their cat, and a flock of chickens on a historic farm, where she enjoys gardening, cooking, restoring the property, and playing board games.
