Overview
Lauren Dickinson is a transactional lawyer who works with Smith Anderson's nationally recognized Life Sciences and AgTech teams to help clients structure and negotiate the transactions that move their technologies from the lab to the market. Having earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University, Lauren brings a strong scientific foundation to her practice.
Lauren’s graduate research focused on gene targeting in plants, including work engineering a novel repeat-based DNA insertion mechanism with findings published in Nature Plants and The Plant Journal. This background gives her a practical grasp of the technical concepts, methods, and industry context that shape life sciences and agricultural technology work. She draws on that foundation to help clients evaluate legal questions with close attention to scientific detail, business objectives, and the broader innovation landscape.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys playing pickleball and board games.
