Overview
Amber Knepper focuses her practice on intellectual property, data privacy and security, and technology transactions, with particular emphasis on helping investors and businesses identify, protect, evaluate, and commercialize IP assets in connection with venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic business transactions. She advises clients on data privacy and security compliance, intellectual property due diligence, software and open-source licensing, technology-focused commercial agreements, and corporate governance matters.
Before joining Smith Anderson, Amber practiced at a national law firm, where she advised technology companies and investors on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters. Prior to pursuing law, Amber served with City Year New York, a non-profit organization partnering with New York City school districts, where she led educational programs supporting students.
Outside the office, Amber enjoys painting, collecting vintage Apple computers, following Formula 1 racing, and spending time with her partner and friends.
