Overview
Kara Weishaar serves as the Director of Government Relations and Association Management at Smith Anderson, where she works with clients across a variety of industries, including health care, energy, telecommunications and tourism. She also leads two statewide organizations as the Executive Director of the North Carolina Society of Anesthesiologists and the North Carolina Travel and Tourism Coalition.
Before returning to North Carolina, Kara spent nearly a decade in Washington, D.C., gaining valuable experience in public policy while serving in the United States Senate. A proud Tar Heel, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
