Sean Timmons Authors Article Published in the November 2006 Prognosis

Smith Anderson Partner, Sean Timmons, recently authored an article New Stark Exceptions and Anti-Kickback Safe Harbors for Electronic Prescribing and Electronic Health Records as published in the November 2006 Prognosis. Published monthly as a joint venture by the NCBA's Health Law Section and the N.C. Promulgated this summer, the final anti-kickback safe harbors and final Stark exceptions regulations present some interesting challenges for implementation. Mr. Timmons' article provides an overview of the competing policies underlying these final new regulations; specific requirements of these new regulations; and practical issues that may affect implementation.
