The Association for Corporate Counsel Presents Program - Commercial Contracting: Top 10 Landmines for Litigation

Raleigh NC (September 29, 2011) - The Research Triangle Area Chapter of the Association for Corporate Counsel (ACC) presented a program entitled Commercial Contracting: Top 10 Landmines for Litigation on Wednesday, September 21 at Flemings Prime Steak House in Raleigh, NC.

The program speakers included Smith Anderson partners Scott Miskimon, Dave Clement, and John Therien. “Most business contracts don’t end up in litigation, but it’s critically important for anyone, including in-house counsel, to draft a contract with an eye toward possible litigation. Careful drafting with possible litigation in mind will help deter litigation, manage risk and limit exposure, reduce litigation expenses, and win the lawsuit,” explained Miskimon.

The group of more than 90 attendees consisted of members of corporate legal teams, in-house counsel, and law students. “The combination of the venue, the speakers, and the topic were great and provided for a successful afternoon. We appreciate Smith Anderson putting on the program and, as always, its support of our Chapter," said ACC leadership.
