Robert Rehm Speaks to Wake Forest Intellectual Property Law Journal Staff Members
Raleigh, NC (September 15, 2010) – Robert Rehm, a partner in Smith Anderson’s Intellectual Property practice group, recently spoke to staff members of the Wake Forest Intellectual Property Law Journal on "Maximizing the Effectiveness of Written Communications." Rehm is on the Journal's Board of Advisors.
During his presentation, Rehm pointed out that having an understanding of applicable legal principles and the expertise to analyze those principles are not the only prerequisites for providing high quality legal services. Just as important, especially in the area of written communications, is the ability to convey the results of legal analyses in a way that permits the recipient of the communication to effectively understand, assimilate, and apply those results. Rehm also noted that, although enhancing written communication skills can be time-consuming and require considerable effort, the potential rewards can be dramatic in terms of enhancing a lawyer's self-confidence as well as the quality of legal services that he or she provides.
Rehm's practice generally focuses on technology licensing and commercialization and the acquisition, licensing and protection of patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property rights.
