Jeff Truitt Speaks on Non-International Armed Conflict

Raleigh, N.C. – Smith Anderson partner and Navy Captain Jeff Truitt presented and served as a panelist at a workshop on Non-International Armed Conflict (NIAC) at the International Institute of Humanitarian Law in San Remo, Italy on May 26-28, 2015. Jeff’s presentations discussed complex international humanitarian law and international human rights law issues pertinent to the legal regime applicable to NIACs, and the impact this uncertainty has on the operations of military, government and non-government organizations. The workshop was attended by international lawyers from five continents, including senior military legal officers, leading academics, and representatives of various United Nation agencies.

Jeff Truitt is the co-head of the International Practice Group at Smith Anderson, and a drilling Navy reservist for the United States Naval War College.
