Geoff Krouse Moderates Private Equity Panel at ACG’s 2009 Capital Conference

The Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) held its 2009 Capital Conference at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club on April 14 and 15. Smith Anderson, an annual sponsor of the event, also sponsored the conference’s first CEO Capital Forum, a panel discussion for invited CEOs and CFOs of North and South Carolina based companies. The panel was moderated by Smith Anderson partner, Geoff Krouse, and addressed the state of the capital markets, the liquidity options provided by private equity and mezzanine financing, and current financing issues for businesses seeking capital. Margaret Rosenfeld, Smith Anderson partner, was also involved in the conference and is currently on ACG’s board, continuing Smith Anderson’s strong connection to the Triangle Chapter of ACG.

Mr. Krouse and Ms. Rosenfeld are also members of Smith Anderson’s Private Equity/Venture Capital practice group, a team of approximately 20 attorneys who have extensive experience and provide a variety of services to private equity and venture capital funds, including fund formation, the formulation of innovative strategies for structuring acquisitions and financings of private and public companies, negotiated as well as unsolicited acquisitions, going private transactions, stock-for-stock acquisitions, spin-off transactions, and acquisitions of minority interests. The group also helps structure its clients’ internal arrangements and management and employee investment arrangements.
