Curt Brewer, a partner in Smith Anderson’s Private Equity Practice, served as a panelist for the “Preparing for Leadership Change: Effective Succession Planning” session at the Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA) Southern Private Equity Conference, Feb. 9-10, 2015, in Miami. Curt joined three other panelists in the discussion, which addressed the challenges of planning for the exit of a key member of a fund management team and the related issues of leadership development, effective tax strategies, fair compensation and optimal ownership structures.
