Allen York Helps PAVE Southeast Raleigh Charter School Secure Permanent Home

Partner Allen York recently led the effort to provide pro bono legal services to PAVE Southeast Raleigh Charter School as it searched for, secured, and lined up financing for a new permanent 18-acre site on Idlewood Village Drive. The new location for this nonprofit public charter school will have 33 classrooms, a gymnasium, media center, cafeteria and athletic fields.

PAVE provides its students with a rigorous academic program and a school community built on the core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance and Excellent Character (PAVE).

According to Cooper Westerndarp, chief operating and financial officer for PAVE SchoolsAllen did a fantastic job of making the closing process – which involved several organizations in multiple locations – seamless, on time, and of high quality. He was assisted in this effort by Lacy Reaves.

These efforts are consistent with Smith Anderson’s steadfast commitment to community service and pro bono work.

“We are so grateful that Allen has joined the PAVE team!” wrote Westerndarp.

Allen is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Development group and focuses his practice on a wide range of real estate transactions, including representation of developers in connection with all phases of acquisition, ownership, operation and disposition of real property.
