Alan Parry Appointed Co-Chair of American Bar Association Committee

RALEIGH, N.C. – Alan Parry has been appointed Co-Chair of the Excess & Umbrella Subcommittee of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee (“ICLC”) of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. His two-year term began in August 2010.

The ICLC is one of the largest and most active committees in the ABA Section of Litigation, with 2,400 members nationwide. The ICLC has formed subcommittees to focus on diverse areas of substantive insurance coverage law and procedural aspects of insurance coverage litigation. All of the subcommittees are co-chaired by lawyers who typically represent policyholders, paired with lawyers who typically represent insurance companies. Subcommittee chairs author articles and website materials, coordinate with Section membership and programming drives, and work to expand member benefits.

Mr. Parry is a partner in the Insurance, Contract Disputes and Commercial Litigation, and Corporate & Securities Litigation practice areas at Smith Anderson. He has broad experience in complex commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including substantial experience litigating insurance coverage disputes and counseling clients regarding insurance coverage issues.
