In Another Three-Peat, Triangle Business Journal Names Smith Anderson to “Best Places to Work” List

Triangle Business Journal

Triangle Business Journal has named Smith Anderson one of the Triangle’s Best Places to Work for the third year in a row.

TBJ chose the honorees based on an employee-survey process conducted by Quantum Workplace, an employee engagement software. Each of the 50 companies who were named to TBJ’s 2022 Best Places to Work List had to meet a threshold in employee participation to be eligible for the honor.

"Employees are the lifeblood of any company," TBJ Publisher and Market President Jason Christie said. "These 50 companies have demonstrated the belief that happy employees produce successful and thriving businesses."

The winners cover a myriad of industries, including technology, construction, life sciences, legal, manufacturing and finance. The award recognizes the most admired workplaces in the Triangle, measured by employee feedback regarding the direction of the business, management effectiveness, and level of employee engagement, work/life balance and pay and benefits, as well as culture – something that is celebrated each day at Smith Anderson. This year, the firm celebrates its 110th anniversary, a significant milestone credited primarily to the firm’s culture.

"Our third Best Places to Work honor shows that being a great place to work is not just a one- or two-off for Smith Anderson, and we credit this achievement to everyone who works here and who contributes to our unique culture," said Byron Kirkland, managing partner of Smith Anderson, whom TBJ last year named as one of the "best of the best" business leaders in the Triangle. "Our attorneys and staff represent the best in the legal field. They can work anywhere they choose, and we are thrilled they have chosen Smith Anderson."

TBJ will honor all the winners in a special section in its Aug. 26 weekly subscriber edition.

This marks Smith Anderson’s second "three-peat" award this year: the first was in March when Benchmark Litigation named our Litigation Team as its North Carolina’s "Firm of the Year" for the third consecutive year.
