Ballard writes about some of the most likely tax issues the North Carolina Legislature will face during the 2018 session, including whether State lawmakers will choose to conform to the new federal tax changes enacted in 2017.

Smith Anderson Partner Bill Nelson weighs in on some of the factors that will determine lawmaker’s decisions on tax issues during the 2018 session. In addition to issues of federal conformity, Bill suggests that lawmakers may address the sourcing of services income for apportionment purposes and may consider broadening sales tax exemptions for business inputs.
