RALEIGH, N.C. – On Jan. 31, 2013, Smith Anderson partner Jackson W. Moore moderated a panel discussion for the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) on corporate cybersecurity and the financial impact of cyberattacks on businesses. This discussion was on the heels of a recent study that revealed a nearly 40 percent increase in the annualized cost of cybercrime since 2010.
The panel included Special Agent Peter Ahearn, Jr. – Federal Bureau of Investigations Cyber Crime Squad, Ray Hillen – Secure Enterprise Computing, and John Coupland – Alternative Risk Advisors. More than 80 ACG members and guests attended the discussion at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in RTP to learn more about online security and the steps businesses should take to protect themselves from cyberthreats. In addition, the panel discussed responses to cyberattacks, data loss and identity theft, as well as developments in federal cybersecurity legislation.
