Triangle Business Journal’s Success Series Highlights Smith Anderson’s Diversity Fellowship

Triangle Business Journal

Triangle Business Journal featured Smith Anderson’s Excellence in Diversity 1L Fellowship program as part of a year-long series that focuses on the economic impact of diversity, equality and inclusion in the Triangle business community.

The article in the series, “52 Shades of Success,” notes the Diversity Fellowship gives law students an opportunity to work at Smith Anderson for up to two summers, with the prospect of a full-time associate position after graduation. The fellowship combines a traditional law firm summer associate experience with working in an in-house corporate law department of a Smith Anderson client.

Fellows are awarded a scholarship of up to $20,000 as well as paid salaries consistent with other summer associates. The fellowship is open to first-year students who are enrolled full-time at American Bar Association-accredited law schools and have demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
