Smith Anderson attorney Caryn McNeill has been elected as a new member of The American Law Institute (ALI). ALI is the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize and otherwise improve the law. Members aid ALI’s work of clarifying the law through Restatements, Model Codes and Principles that are influential in the courts and legislatures, as well as in legal scholarship and education.
The most recent class of ALI members, comprised of judges, lawyers and academics from across the United States as well as other countries, were confidentially nominated by their peers, vetted by the ALI Membership Committee, and elected by the ALI counsel. Caryn is one of two new members from North Carolina.
