7,100 Acre Chatham Park Development Underway in Pittsboro

The first of its kind in North Carolina, Chatham Park is a 7,100 acre planned mixed-use development of homes, businesses, research space and parks. It is located along the Haw River between Jordan Lake and the town of Pittsboro in Chatham County, N.C.

Chatham Park is expected to be home to 60,000 residents once the project is completed. In addition to residences, extensive retail, art and recreation, the Park will have schools and medical facilities. According to a WRAL.com article, a study by a North Carolina State University economist predicts that over a 40-year period Chatham Park will produce 115,000 jobs and drive $154 billion in economic impact.

Development began in December 2014 and will be completed in phases over the next 30 years.
