Four Smith Anderson Clients Win 2016 Triangle Business Journal Life Sciences Awards

Precision BioSciences, Bayer, Bamboo Therapeutics and Shaw University were among eight winners selected from a pool of 17 finalists. Precision BioSciences won “Company of the Year,” Bayer won “Best Agricultural Biotechnology Company,” Bamboo Therapeutics won “Best Early-Stage Product Development Company” and Shaw University won “Outstanding Research”. Precision BioSciences is a genome editing company that seeks to solve significant problems in oncology, genetic disease, agriculture, and beyond via its proprietary, nuclease-based genome editing platform, known as ARCUS. Earlier this year, Precision executed a worldwide immuno-oncology partnership with Baxalta Incorporated, worth up to $1.6 billion, including a $105 million upfront payment to Precision.
