Time Warner Cable News "Capital Tonight"

On Dec. 15, 2015, Smith Anderson Partner Alicia Gilleskie presented at the 2015 Cybersecurity Conference in Durham, N.C., hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and North Carolina Chamber. The conference included speakers from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, Duke Energy, the National Institute of Standards and Technology and Smith Anderson.

Following the conference, Alicia was interviewed by Time Warner Cable News for its “Capital Tonight” TV program along with Ann Beauchesne, senior vice president for national security and emergency preparedness at the U.S. Chamber.

“From a legal perspective, many companies are concerned about this issue because most companies touch sensitive information electronically, which is the type of assets that are affected by data breaches,” Alicia told host Tim Boyum. “Many companies – growth companies, small companies – are concerned about this issue. It’s a matter of implementing practical measures and dedicating the appropriate resources to address the issue.”

Alicia heads up the Firm’s Data Use, Privacy and Security practice group.

The taped segment aired on Dec. 28, 2015.
