Bill Nelson Moderates at NC Chamber Annual Tax Conference

RALEIGH, N.C. – Smith Anderson partner Bill Nelson moderated a panel discussion on tax reform and modernization at the NC Chamber’s Annual Tax Conference in Charlotte on November 15th. The panel included Senator Bob Rucho, Chair of the General Assembly’s Senate Finance Committee, Keith Butler, Vice President of Tax at Duke Energy, and Matt Gentile, a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young’s Carolinas Tax Practice. The panel discussed the need for fundamental tax reform in North Carolina, the principles for evaluating tax reform proposals, and tax reform experiences in other states. Tax reform is expected to be a major issue during the 2013 legislative session. Mr. Nelson is Chair of the NC Chamber’s Tax Committee.
