Kirk Warner Named to Equal Access to Justice Commission

Raleigh, NC (April 23, 2010) – Kirk Warner, a partner in Smith Anderson’s Contract Disputes and Commercial Litigation and Products Liability Defense practice groups, has been named to the North Carolina Equal Access to Justice Commission.

Warner’s appointment to the Commission was made by North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Sarah Parker. The appointment is for a three year term beginning in May 2010. He will be participating as a North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys member.

The mission of the Equal Access to Justice Commission is to expand access to the civil justice system for people of low income and modest means in North Carolina. The Commission was established in November 2005 for the purposes of unmet legal needs assessment, statewide strategic planning, coordination of efforts between the legal aid organizations and other legal and non-legal organizations, resource development, and expanding civil access to justice.
