Overview
Gabriela "Gabbie" Chartier assists clients in an array of complex commercial litigation matters and white-collar investigations as part of Smith Anderson’s Business Litigation team.
Before joining Smith Anderson, Gabbie practiced at an international law firm in Washington, D.C., where she assisted with high-stakes litigation, investigations and regulatory matters. Her experience includes conducting internal investigations and representing clients in government enforcement actions involving federal and state authorities, as well as in False Claims Act litigation. She also has experience handling commercial and government contract disputes, responding to civil investigative demands and engaging directly with the Department of Justice, federal agencies and other government officials.
Gabbie graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as Senior Symposium & Development Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. During law school, she also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Alfred Covello at the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Prior to law school, Gabbie worked at a public relations and crisis communications firm, where she assisted clients with various publicity and crisis management needs.
Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog, skiing and playing various racquet sports. Gabbie lives in the Triangle with her husband.
