Overview
Nick Zanzot is an attorney with Smith Anderson’s Corporate and Transactional practice group. He provides counsel to both public and private companies and focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, general corporate matters and public company securities law.
He enjoys the pace and collaboration that come with transactional work, partnering with executives, founders and in-house teams to solve problems and guide deals from initial planning through closing. His work spans both domestic and international matters, allowing him to support clients wherever opportunity takes them.
Nick is also passionate about helping future lawyers enter the profession. He enjoys participating in the firm’s recruiting efforts and regularly speaks with undergraduate and law students about the legal profession and navigating the process of becoming a lawyer.
Nick is an Eagle Scout who grew up in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina. Outside of work, he can often be found outdoors or exploring new food and wine destinations—interests that reflect his appreciation for experiences best enjoyed in good company

- Advised an international private equity investor and its portfolio Contract Research Organization on the acquisition of a U.S.-based CRO, enhancing the platform’s global presence and supporting its strategy to build a leading independent specialist CRO.
- Advises NYSE- and NASDAQ-listed public companies in various industries with respect to public disclosure and securities law compliance matters, NYSE and NASDAQ listing requirements, corporate governance, and general corporate matters.
- Represented a Nasdaq-listed bank holding company in multiple capital markets transactions, including public offerings of senior notes, subordinated notes, and preferred stock, for aggregate proceeds exceeding $2 billion.
