Premier Legal Organization in North America Inducts Smith Anderson Trial Attorney Kirk Warner

Trial attorney Kirk G. Warner has been admitted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America. The College is an invitation-only Fellowship that is composed of the best trial lawyers from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Fellowship is extended to experienced trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds only after the College carefully investigates each nominee and then selects those who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers demonstrate the highest standards of ethical conduct, civility, professionalism and collegiality. Kirk’s professional career includes numerous accolades from leading legal publications for his work in complex product liability and commercial bet-the-company litigation; prominent leadership roles serving on professional and community organizations, as well as military committees and veterans organizations – including being a driving force behind the growth of Veterans Treatment Courts; and 33 years of military service as a Judge Advocate (JAG), retiring from the U.S. Army with the rank of Colonel.

Kirk has been practicing for 37 years and leads Smith Anderson’s Products Liability, Mass Tort and Catastrophic Loss, Asbestos and Toxic Torts, and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Litigation practice areas. He has investigated, litigated and tried cases throughout the United States in all levels of trial and appellate courts and has also served as lead counsel nationally, regionally and statewide to multiple automotive and consumer products manufacturers. 

The College maintains and seeks to improve the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and public statements on independence of the judiciary, trial by jury, respect for the rule of law, access to justice, and fair and just representation of all parties to legal proceedings. The College is thus able to speak with a balanced voice on important issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice. Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. There are currently approximately 5,800 members in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, including active Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows (those who ascended to the bench after their induction) and Honorary Fellows.

The special induction ceremony at which Kirk became a Fellow took place during the Induction Ceremony at the 2020 Spring Meeting of the College in Tucson, Arizona.
