James K. Dorsett III Named Chair of the N.C. Fellows of the American Bar Foundation
Raleigh, N.C. - Smith Anderson Partner James K. Dorsett III has been named chair of the North Carolina Fellows of the American Bar Foundation. The American Bar Foundation is dedicated to advancing justice through rigorous research on the law, legal processes, and the law’s impact on our society.
Membership in the American Bar Foundation is limited to one percent of the licensed lawyer population in each jurisdiction.
A past president of the North Carolina State Bar, Jim practices in the areas of commercial litigation, products liability, and tort and insurance litigation. His work includes the representation of corporations and individuals in contract and shareholder suits, claims related to decedents’ estates including will caveats, legal malpractice cases, and the defense of manufacturers in products liability cases in the state and federal courts. Jim also represents property owners in tax valuation appeals.
