Dana Simpson Appointed to the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Assisted Living Association
Smith Anderson lawyer Dana Simpson recently received the honor of appointment to the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Assisted Living Association (NCALA). Mr. Simpson began his service on the board on January 1, 2007.
A non-profit association established in 1994, the NCALA promotes the establishment and operation of quality assisted living communities in North Carolina. Its member communities provide appropriate supportive housing and services for individuals of all income levels with compromised health and safety needs. As the state affiliate of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), NCALA has grown tremendously with a membership including assisted living providers and associated professionals and businesses.
Mr. Simpson practices as a member of Smith Anderson's Health Care Law and Public and Government Affairs teams. His extensive experience includes representing health care clients in managed care contracting and dispute resolution; health care corporate and employment law issues; and state and federal regulatory compliance. In addition, he represents health care clients before state administrative agencies and the North Carolina General Assembly.
Mr. Simpson's public and government affairs practice includes advising clients regarding legislative and regulatory advocacy; public relations and grassroots strategies; and campaign finance law compliance. He was rated one of the top 50 "Most Influential" lobbyists in the 2005 General Assembly in a survey of legislators, lobbyists and the press conducted by the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research.
