Chambers USA Recognizes Smith Anderson For Third Consecutive Year
For the third consecutive year, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business 2005 edition has honored Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan L.L.P.
Reflecting the Firm’s depth and experience, Chambers USA recognized Smith Anderson as among the best law firms in North Carolina in Corporate/M&A; Employment; Litigation (General Commercial); and Real Estate. Chambers USA noted, for example, based on Firm client interviews that Smith Anderson “has an excellent, experienced and versatile [Corporate/M&A] practice;” the Firm’s Real Estate lawyers “are some of the best around;” is “simply outstanding on employment law; and ”the General Commercial litigation practice does “phenomenal work.”
The Firm’s Corporate/M&A practice has retained its top ranking in the Triangle-area for the third straight year since Chambers and Partners began publishing USA rankings three years ago. Chambers and Partners began publishing legal guides in 1990 with the launch of Chambers Directory in the United Kingdom. Led by a former British barrister and industry lawyer, the company now publishes legal guides worldwide. To compile the third edition of Chambers USA this year, 40 full-time researchers spent over 8 months researching including conducting over 10,000 in-depth interviews with clients and attorneys. Law firms can receive a ranking from 1-6 (1 the highest) and individual attorneys can receive a ranking from 1-6, “U” if “up and coming,” “S” if “senior statesman,” and “*” for “exceptional recommendations in their field.”
