Aloft Hotel Wins Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Community Appearance

Congratulations to the Aloft Raleigh hotel on winning a 2016 Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Community Appearance in the Commercial category!

The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Community Appearance recognize outstanding new contributions to the character, environment and appearance of the City of Raleigh. Since 1983, the Raleigh City Council has presented more than 200 Sir Walter Raleigh Awards to developers, designers, building owners, community groups, civic clubs, churches and citizens.

Smith Anderson client Bell View Partners developed the 135 room Aloft Hotel located on Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh, across from the NC State Belltower. Smith Anderson’s Real Estate Development team, led by partner Wayne Maiorano, advised on legal aspects related to the construction of the hotel.

The Awards ceremony took place on September 7, 2016 at the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh (CAM Raleigh).
