Mike Weddington Reappointed to Chair State Bar Board of Legal Specialization

Raleigh, NC (July 26, 2010) Smith Anderson partner Mike Weddington has been reappointed by the North Carolina State Bar Council to chair the State Bar Board of Legal Specialization for 2010 - 2011. He has chaired the Board since 2008.

The Board of Legal Specialization administers the Plan of Legal Specialization adopted by the State Bar, including recommending to the State Bar Council practice areas in which specialization certificates may be issued to practitioners, making and publishing standards for the certification of legal specialists, certifying practitioners as specialists and appointing specialty committees for each practice specialty area that has been approved by the Council.

At Smith Anderson, Mr. Weddington regularly advises clients on professional licensing matters, construction bonding matters and trademark prosecution and protection matters. He is also a certified state and federal court mediator and a member of the arbitration panel for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
