Geoffrey Krouse Appointed as President-Elect of Ronald McDonald House of Durham Board of Trustees

Raleigh, NC (May 26, 2011) – Geoffrey Krouse, a partner in Smith Anderson’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and Securities & Growth practice areas, has been appointed as the President-Elect of the Board of Trustees for the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. He also serves on the Executive Committee and is Chair of the Development Committee.

The Ronald McDonald House of Durham operates two programs to support families in their time of medical crisis: a housing program for families that must travel long distances for their children to receive treatment at Duke Children’s Hospital, as well as two “Family Rooms”—one in Duke Medical Center and one at WakeMed Children’s Hospital-- to allow families to escape the hospital atmosphere but remain steps from their child’s bedside. Since 1980, the Ronald McDonald House of Durham has served more than 800 families annually.

Mr. Krouse has extensive experience representing public and private buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions and recapitalization transactions, representing companies in public and private securities offerings, and assisting companies with corporate governance, compliance and other general corporate matters.
