Raleigh, NC (November 2, 2011) - Mike Weddington, a partner with Smith Anderson, has been presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by the North Carolina State Bar Council to acknowledge his service on the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. He received this honor at the North Carolina State Bar Councilors’ Dinner on Wednesday, October 19.
Mr. Weddington served on the Board of Legal Specialization for nine years, including chairing the Board from 2008-2011. Mr. Weddington’s practice focuses on providing counsel to licensed professionals having disciplinary or licensing issues with their professional licensing boards; and on intellectual property matters, particularly trademarks. He has represented medical professionals, certified public accountants, engineers, architects, general contractors, licensed professional counselors and lawyers in professional disciplinary matters. He has handled the registration of hundreds of trademarks and service marks for many clients, as well as litigation of trademark issues in state and federal courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office.
