Sharita Whitaker Leads Successful NCBA Minorities in the Profession Committee Event

Raleigh, N.C.  – On Saturday, January 30, 2016, the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession Committee – chaired by Smith Anderson’s Sharita Whitakerhosted its annual “¡Adelante!  Moving Forward” signature program at the North Carolina Bar Center.

The ¡Adelante! Moving Forward program teaches law school students the skills necessary to succeed in school, transition from law school into the workforce and to effectively network with professionals.

The program was well attended by attorneys and law students in North Carolina, despite the fact that it was a makeup day. Smith Anderson lawyers Deborah Tarwasokono and Mike Frongello  who sit on the NCBA MIP Committee also attended the networking lunch and interacted with local law school students.

Sharita focuses her practice in the areas of Commercial Real Estate and Real Estate Development. She assists clients with real estate acquisitions, dispositions and leasing. In addition to mentoring law students and new lawyers through the NCBA MIP Committee, she is an active North Carolina Central University School of Law alumna.
