Business reporter for The News and Observer interviewed Partner Benji Jones about North Carolina’s proposed crowdfunding legislation designed to provide start-ups and other small businesses new ways to raise capital.
Benji relayed that more than two dozen states have passed crowdfunding laws while North Carolina had yet to do so. She said the state is falling behind by not passing its own laws, and told the reporter that she is a proponent of S.B. 481, which would permit companies in North Carolina to raise up to $2 million, rather than the $1 million limit stipulated by federal rules.
The article ran in the Sunday, January 17 edition of the newspaper, and was also picked up by Bloomberg.
