Margaret Rosenfeld Says Corporate Social Media Standards Were Imminent, According to Interview with Triangle Business Journal


RALEIGH, N.C. – On April 3, 2012, Margaret Rosenfeld, a partner at Smith Anderson, provided the Triangle Business Journal and its readers with an explanation of the implications behind a recent ruling by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the article, “Smith Anderson attorney: Expect standards in social media disclosures.”

The SEC ruling allows companies to use social media and other informal communications channels when sharing significant company information with investors. Margaret praises the SEC’s decision and said “she’ll advise clients to put the same thought into disclosing a piece of information via social media that they put into other disclosures.” 

Margaret is a partner within Smith Anderson’s Corporate Group and leads the Firm’s International Law practice.
