Merrill Mason Judges Second Phase of UNC’s Carolina Challenge

RALEIGH, N.C. - Merrill Mason, a partner at Smith Anderson, served as a judge for the Elevator Pitch Round of the University of North Carolina’s (UNC) Carolina Challenge on February 19, 2013. As a judge, Merrill helps teams learn how to turn their ideas into viable business plans. This is the second phase of the competition which takes place in four stages and concludes when the final four teams are announced on April 4, 2013.

The annual Carolina Challenge is a student-led business and social venture competition designed to promote entrepreneurship at UNC, including the emerging area of social entrepreneurship, among faculty, staff and students from all schools and departments throughout the University. Each year, it awards $50,000 to the most promising early-stage ventures.
