Each summer, Smith Anderson welcomes associates into our firm to experience first-hand the people and the work environment that sets us apart from other law firms. Our goal throughout the summer program is to give practical experience through challenging work assignments and participation in out-of-office events including observing depositions, trials, closings, client meetings and negotiations.
As a summer associate, you will work closely with our Assignment Coordinator who helps manage your workflow and ensures you are receiving projects in areas that interest you. Associates are also assigned a mentor who provides sound advice and guidance as students become well-acquainted with our firm and the practice of law.
During your summer experience at Smith Anderson, we want to get to know you, as much as we want you to get to know our lawyers and our community. We organize lunches, dinners at lawyers' homes, parties at local restaurants, impromptu social gatherings, as well as sporting and cultural events, so that we can get to know each other on a more personal level.
If you are interested in applying for a summer associate position and you are unable to meet us at one of the schools or events listed on our On Campus Recruiting page, please contact Sheryl Roberts, Recruiting Coordinator.
