Throughout our firm’s history, we have sustained a culture of integrity, growth and community leadership. Our success is propelled by the confidence and support bestowed on us by our clients, as well as the ability of our staff to operate seamlessly and as a team focused on common goals. We have found that our people are happiest when they are allowed to contribute their unique talents to the firm’s success, when they are recognized and rewarded for doing their best work, and when they are part of a collaborative effort to give back to the community. We are honored that our lawyers and staff voted us as a 2020 Triangle Business Journal “Best Place to Work”. The award recognizes the most admired workplaces in the region and is measured by employee feedback about the direction of the business, management effectiveness, level of employee engagement, culture, work/life balance, pay and benefits.
We wholeheartedly encourage and support the efforts of our staff to give back to the communities we serve. Our lawyers and staff devote hundreds of pro bono hours to a range of worthy causes. Additionally, many of our people hold leadership positions in local and national non-profit organizations. Internally, staff members routinely organize efforts to collect goods and funds for people in need and form teams to actively participate in events outside of the office such as walks benefiting charitable organizations.
It is our philosophy that an investment in our people yields a high return in employee loyalty and better equips them to provide our clients with an endless supply of innovative ideas and solutions. We are therefore committed to providing training and continuing education opportunities to help our people grow their careers and hone their competitive edge. Our associates are paired with supervising partners who serve as mentors and offer them sound advice and guidance. Lawyers and paralegals are afforded the opportunity to participate in continuing education seminars and events. In addition, the firm provides a multitude of internal educational opportunities to all employees.
Our employees work in a modern and technologically innovative space. As a reminder of our deep roots and our ongoing commitment to the community, the walls are embellished with artwork by established or emerging North Carolina artists. Our downtown Raleigh location also provides our employees with an opportunity to take advantage of a multitude of restaurant options for lunch and after-hours socializing.
We enjoy special occasions together, such as semi-annual family-wide events hosted in connection with popular festivals in downtown Raleigh. It is also our tradition to enjoy monthly birthday cake celebrations with one another, collectively celebrate our firm’s anniversary and gather together on Thanksgiving and other holidays of significance.
