Mr. Parry has broad experience in complex commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including substantial experience litigating insurance coverage disputes and counseling clients regarding insurance coverage issues. Recent examples of Mr. Parry’s experience include:
- Representation of company in action seeking coverage and extra-contractual damages from liability carrier that refused to recognize company as “additional insured” under contractor’s primary and umbrella policies;
- Representation of software service provider in dispute with former customer regarding the implementation of a new software product;
- Representation of corporate insured in bad faith action in Mississippi relating to carrier's denial of coverage for dozens of commercial properties damaged by Hurricane Katrina;
- Representation of purchaser in dispute regarding alleged breach by seller of representations and warranties in stock purchase agreement;
- Representation of retail store chain in dispute with pollution liability carriers regarding coverage for costs to clean up environmental contamination at numerous sites;
- Representation of general contractor in dispute with steel supplier involving alleged fraud in connection with materials supplied to project;
- Representation of software company in dispute with D&O carrier regarding coverage for defense costs incurred in connection with securities litigation and related investigations;
- Representation of international component supplier in contract dispute alleging breach of supply agreement, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and fraud; and
- Representation of chemical supplier in defense of action filed by competitor alleging tortious interference with contract and prospective economic advantage, civil conspiracy, and unfair and deceptive trade practices.
Mr. Parry joined Smith Anderson in January 2003, after practicing for several years with Baker Botts L.L.P. in Dallas, Texas.
