Ms. Gilleskie practices primarily in the areas of technology law, information privacy and security, and intellectual property licensing. She advises clients in the software, information technology, health care, data aggregation and Internet and e-commerce industries. During her tenure as in-house counsel prior to joining Smith Anderson, she developed an extensive knowledge of corporate processes and operations, and is adept at transforming legal concepts into practical, hands-on advice for clients. - Health care initiatives involving large scale health information exchange between health care physicians, hospitals, payers, and vendors
- Regulatory requirements, including HIPAA Business Associate Agreements
- Website development and hosting, including privacy statements and terms of use documentation
- Previously served as outside privacy counsel to Verispan, LLC, advising on matters related to the de-identification, aggregation and license of health information
- Providing compliance advice in connection with privacy laws and regulations including HIPAA, CAN-SPAM, Do-Not-Call, FTC Act Section 5
- Advising on issues related to liability stemming from user-generated website content

Ms. Gilleskie joined Smith Anderson from a 500-lawyer firm where she concentrated her practice in technology law and information privacy and security. Previously, she served for five years as Corporate Counsel and HIPAA Compliance Officer for Misys Healthcare Systems and Corporate Counsel with Laboratory Corporation of America Holding (LabCorp).
