Prior to joining Smith Anderson in 2017, Crystal Feldman served as deputy secretary for communications at the N.C. Department of Transportation where she led the agency’s internal and external communications. She was responsible for the strategic development, integration and implementation of a broad range of public affairs activities; media relations; and public awareness and education campaigns.
Prior to joining NCDOT, Crystal was deputy secretary for public affairs at the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). She similarly worked in communications at the N.C. Department of Public Safety and the governor’s office. Her previous experience also includes serving as press secretary for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources and communications consulting in Washington, D.C.
Crystal earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Georgetown University.
