Melissa Stockley Jones joined Smith Anderson in November of 2000. She concentrates in the area of medical malpractice defense litigation where she assists attorneys in every stage of the case. Prior to joining Smith Anderson, she worked in the areas of personal injury, collections, construction litigation and bankruptcy.
Melissa earned her designation of Certified Paralegal (CP) from the National Association of Legal Assistants in April of 1998 and earned her designation of Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) in Discovery from the National Association of Legal Assistants in May of 2010. She received her designation of North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP) from the North Carolina State Bar in December of 2005. She is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, North Carolina Paralegal Association and North Carolina Bar Association - Paralegal Division.
Melissa served as Chair for the North Carolina Paralegal Association’s CLA Review Course for 2002 through 2004. She served as First Vice President for the North Carolina Paralegal Association for 2004 through 2007 and as Registration Chair for 2007 through 2011. Melissa is currently serving as First Vice President for the North Carolina Paralegal Association.
