Smith Anderson Lawyers Speak at North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants’ Ethics Event Hosted by Vaco

Raleigh, NC- (August 31, 2010) – Ms. Margaret Rosenfeld and Mr. Sandy Costa spoke at North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants’ Ethics Event Hosted by Vaco in Cary, NC on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Ms. Rosenfeld’s presentation focused on “The Art of Conducting Internal Investigations” while Mr. Costa presented, “Hollywood Got it Wrong: How Leadership Really Works.”

Vaco invited regional clients interested in learning more about the North Carolina Association of CPAs Ethics standards to this gathering. Vaco is a national company that matches accounting, financial, IT and administrative professionals with the project and permanent needs of their clients.

Ms. Rosenfeld has corporate and securities law experience both within the United States and internationally. Her practice includes public company reporting, corporate governance, public offerings and private placements of securities, corporate investigations (internal and government), mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property protection and licensing as well as general corporation representation.

Mr. Costa’s professional experience includes over 30 years in executive and senior operating management positions within the pharmaceutical, health care and life sciences industries. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Costa’s experience includes President, Chief Operating Officer and Vice Chairman of Quintiles Transnational Corp. Other executive level experience includes Senior Vice President-Administration, General Counsel and Director of Glaxo Inc.; and U.S. Area Counsel for Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals.
