Caroline Belk Presents at 2010 Environment, Energy & Natural Resources Section Annual Meeting

Raleigh, NC (May 3, 2010) – Caroline Belk, a lawyer at Smith Anderson practicing in the Contract Disputes and Commercial Litigation group and with a concentration in the areas of Environment, Health and Safety, spoke at the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) 2010 Environment, Energy & Natural Resources Section Annual Meeting. The panel discussion focused on environmental due diligence and risk management in commercial real estate transactions. The meeting was held Friday and Saturday, April 23-24, 2010, in Asheville, North Carolina.

Ms. Belk’s presentation gave an overview of the diligence process, discussed strategies for allocating risk among parties, and raised issues regarding some of the disclosure and reporting obligations of buyers and sellers of real property.
