Merrill Mason Invited Speaker at UNC on "Cyberspace" Law Issues

On March 6, 2007, Smith Anderson partner Merrill Masonmade a presentation to students in a Cyberspace Law class at the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Mr. Mason is well-recognized for his experience in providing legal and business guidance to many Triangle-area start-up and technology organizations. His presentation offered students insights into the practical legal issues of concern for software and other technology-based companies that have a web presence. The interactive session focused on specific intellectual property and other legal challenges faced by these companies.

Mr. Mason practices in the areas of corporate and securities law. He represents emerging and entrepreneurial companies and focuses his practice on venture capital; securities; mergers and acquisitions; intellectual property; and general corporate matters.

A frequent invited speaker and author, Mr. Mason also teaches Legal Issues for Start-Upsat the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School.
